Winners Announced for Student Video Contest

Malakoff High School received second place in the secondary schools Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) "TexasPublic Schools Rock!" video contest. They will be awarded $2,500 later this spring to be used for their campus. The videos, posted at illustrate the value of public education and emphasize the many positive aspects of our state's public schools.

Congratulations to Mrs. Cheek and the High School students who demonstrated their creativity and enthusiasm for the great things going on in their public school. "The video entries did a great job of explaining why local schools deserve the support of their communities and appropriate funding from the state," said Andra Self, TASB President. "Our students' voices underscore the many ways Texas public schools rock and why all Texans should be proud to stand up for their public schools," she said.
