Ava Perkins, the valedictorian of the Malakoff Class of 2025, has exemplified what it means to
be a dedicated, accomplished, and multifaceted student throughout her high school career. She is the daughter of Ronnie and Bo Perkins. Ranked number one in her graduating class, she embodies the values of integrity, passion, honor, and relentless drive.
Her high school journey has been defined by her commitment to growth in every area—academic, athletic, and personal. She serves as the class vice president, and president of the National Honor Society, and is an active member of the Student Council. Her academic achievements include participation in UIL academic competitions and earning certifications such as Level 1 Welding, NCCER, and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. She was also a valued member of the FFA during her earlier years. Athletically, she has been involved in cross country, basketball, track, softball, tennis, and athletic training— earning 1st Team honors in every sport. As a freshman, she qualified for the state meet in cross country and was part of both state football teams as a trainer, celebrating a championship win during her junior year. Her academic and athletic balance was further recognized when she earned Academic All-State honors as a student athletic trainer.
With a strong moral compass and an unwavering work ethic, she has remained in the top 10% of her class for all four years. She is a proud member of First Baptist Church of Malakoff, where her values have been continuously shaped and strengthened. In the fall, she will attend Texas A&M University, where she will major in pre-nursing. After completing her prerequisites, she plans to apply to nursing school and pursue a career as a travel nurse. She is passionate about helping others and is determined to make a meaningful impact wherever life takes her.
